You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”David Harkins

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Darla Herman who was born on July 15, 1966 and passed away on March 22, 2013. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Hendrick Polanco My deepest condolences March 29, 2013

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

Samantha Corfield To Darla's Family and Friends March 27, 2013
To the family,
What can we possibly say here?  We love and cherish Darla as one of our own.  Each and every one of you were and are important to her.  She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend.

The world is a darker, lesser place without her, that is for sure.  But remember her light and her love and how she can still brighten our hearts.

Matt and I will be here for any of you who need anything.

We know your loss is immeasurable and you all have our most heartfelt and loving condolences.

Love,
Sam and Matt Corfield
Samantha Corfield To Brandon March 27, 2013
Dearest Brandon,
There aren't words yet created for me to use to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of your dear Mom.  I loved her so much, as if she were my own daughter or sister. I love her for herself. I love her for so generously sharing you with me. I love her for caring and always being there.

Although I feel greatly diminished at her loss, I also feel uplifted for the privilege of having known and loved her.

Uncle Matt and I will be here for you, as will be the rest of your wonderful family.

Love,
Nana
